The Flavour Search venue finding team had the pleasure of dining at Gaucho Covent Garden in August 2024. This well renowned Argentinian restaurant is known for its superb steaks, sultry atmosphere, and unforgettable dining experiences. Keen to gain first-hand knowledge to relay to our corporate event booking clients, we sampled their Secret Tango dinner show. This feast for the senses combined exceptional Argentine flavours with the spirit of a night in Buenos Aires. Our evening was nothing short of spectacular, making Gaucho Covent Garden the perfect venue for private and corporate events.

The Menu: A Culinary Journey
During our visit, we ordered from the Secret Tango menu, which offered excellent value and a pleasing sampler of Gaucho’s most popular dishes. Our meal began with two tantalising starters: Salmon Tartare Tacos and Prawn Aguachile. The Salmon Tartare Tacos were delicately flavoured with citrus and herbs, balanced perfectly by the crisp taco shell, while the Prawn Aguachile brought an explosion of freshness and spice, a wonderful partner to the tender prawns.
The star of the show, though, was the steak. Gaucho is renowned for its beef, and the Chorizo Sirloin Steak and Lomo Fillet Steak did not disappoint. Cooked to perfection, both cuts were bursting with succulence, tender, and expertly grilled. The Chorizo Sirloin had a subtle smokiness, while the Lomo Fillet was a melt-in-the-mouth delight. The chefs at Gaucho have truly mastered the art of flame grilling.
For dessert, we indulged in two refreshing and inventive treats: the Eton Mess, which had a delightful Latin-American twist, and the Raspberry and Pistachio Semifreddo. The Semifreddo was a standout, with its rich pistachio flavour balanced by the tartness of the raspberries—a perfect ending to a sensational meal. Gaucho offers an excellent selection of menu options. Ranging from canapes and bar bites for standing events through sharing and feast menus for an unforgettable dining event.
Secret Tango: A Night of Passion and Rhythm
As we enjoyed our meal, the restaurant came alive with the seductive rhythms of Argentine tango. Two pairs of tango dancers wove their way gracefully around the restaurant, adding a touch of passion and drama to the evening. Their precision, chemistry, and artistry captivated the entire room, creating an immersive dining experience that was highly enjoyable. The live DJ complemented the evening perfectly, keeping the energy of the restaurant high with a mix of vibrant beats and classic Latin tunes. The performance created an electric atmosphere, blending food, music, and dance into a fabulous Saturday night out.
