Fridays are usually about winding down and relaxing early for most Londoners. But for me, Fridays are all about discovering the coolest spots in town, thanks to Flavoursearch. This week, I headed to Victoria for a client lunch at the majestic Greenwood.
Located within the Nova building, Greenwood is a vibrant mix of pub, restaurant, and sports lounge spread across two massive floors. My mission? To explore everything it has to offer, and it didn’t disappoint. We started our lunch with a bubbly Friday Prosecco at the bar, catching up on the latest in the events scene. After a hectic week, we deserved a delicious reward, and Greenwood delivered.
Craving something crispy, I opted for the Chilli Squid with aioli. It was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and paired wonderfully with a chilled glass of Picpoul. My client chose the Korean chicken wings with sesame seeds, and after trying one (okay, maybe a few), I can vouch for their saucy goodness.
While their pizza and burgers looked tempting, I had my eye on the freshest catch. I went for the Teriyaki Salmon with broccoli, bean sprouts, and red pepper. The fish was moist and full of flavor. My companion enjoyed a falafel burger with harissa, tahini mayo, and grilled halloumi, describing it as subtly spiced with an exotic warmth. Definitely adding that to my must-try list for next time!
For a Friday treat, we indulged in the European cheese board with quince chutney and oats, skipping the usual port for two indulgent Espresso Martinis. Greenwood shakes them up just right!
With our appetites satisfied, we took a tour of the venue. The ground floor houses the main bar and lounge, along with some chic private spaces available for hire. Upstairs, the sports lounge boasts shuffleboards, pinball machines, numerous TV screens, and two American 8-ball pool tables. Though my competitive spirit was itching for a game, work called.
Greenwood’s blend of style, great food, and fun activities has definitely won me over. I can't wait to return and fully immerse myself in this versatile venue!
