The Cooks’ Room at Hawksmoor Borough, housed in a mid-19th century former hops warehouse turned auction hall for ‘colonial and foreign fruit’, serves as both a creative hub for our chefs and a unique private dining space for our guests. With its own dedicated kitchen, it offers an unparalleled feasting experience in the heart of the capital, exuding a timeless charm. The walls are adorned with glazed tiles salvaged from the London underground, while the floor boasts parquet blocks sourced from an RAF base in the Midlands and original black and white quarry tiles from a Welsh chapel.
Located just a short stroll from London Bridge, The Cooks’ Room can be arranged for communal dining for up to 18 guests. Its open-plan kitchen features shelves lined with cookbooks and a spacious copper counter with four additional seats for those eager to observe the culinary action up close.
Additionally, the room is equipped with a mobile screen, perfect for presentations, training sessions, or screening your favourite sporting events.

This building was repurposed by 'colonial and foreign fruit' merchants J. O. Sims in 1932 as a fruit warehouse and auction hall. Downstairs at Borough, the Cooks’ Room is hailed as one of the best private dining rooms in London. With its own private kitchen, it offers an immersive dining experience where chefs cook right in front of you and your guests. The private dining room can accommodate groups of up to 22 people. Enjoy £5 corkage all day on Mondays, and savour roasts on Sundays that Observer Food Monthly named among the best in the UK. Our Express Menu is available until 6pm from Monday to Saturday, and after 5pm on Sundays.
